Team Jack - American Heart Association Silent Auction
September 15th, 2007
On Saturday, September 15th, we will proudly be hosting our 3rd Annual "Team Jack" Silent Auction fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Last year's event was an enormous success and we're looking forward to raising even more money this year.
Here's some background info on the reason the event was born. Six year old Jackson Clark (pictured) was born with a condition called hypoplastic right heart syndrome, a condition that caused him to be born with his right ventricle 10% formed. He was rushed into open heart surgery at 2 weeks old, again at 6 months old, and a last time at 18 months of age. He bravely survived each operation which they refer to as "the big 3." Though the surgeries were considered a success, his heart will never function as ours and he has a long road ahead of him. The purpose of our fundraiser is not to raise money for Jack or his family, but to help fund the research that will lead to a cure for his condition, or at least a means to prolong the inevitable. All money raised will be donated to the American Heart Association towards research of congenital heart defects.
Our event is unique in that we raise money in three different ways. First, we will donate the cover charge for the day to A.H.A. Second, ALL tips for the day will be donated to the cause. And finally, the most fun part of the event, we will hold a silent auction where all money raised will go straight to A.H.A. The silent auction will be filled with a vast amount of items from local hotels and restaurants, to the coolest things from the beer and liquor companies, and so many other things that are too big to mention. The auction will begin on Thursday, the 13th and will close at midnight on the 15th.
For the night, the back parking lot will be closed off and we'll host the bands and a beer-pouring station outside. Dustin Pittsley will begin playing at 7:30pm and Hosty Duo will headline the event until close.
